For any snorkelling/diving enthusiasts, Raja Ampat is a must because [...] the reefs were pristine. I had not seen such healthy reefs since I went to The Galapagos 25 years ago. It was fantastic and we had snorkelling opportunities every day. I wish I had purchased a better waterproof camera. There were not many activities outside snorkelling. We had 2 short (30 minute) hikes and an afternoon at a beach and that was about it. [...] It was easy going, the water was very calm (mirror-like most of the time) and there were plenty of stunning views to photograph. [...] The weather was mainly sun/cloud mix. All in all, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves snorkelling/diving.

This small-ship sailing journey through Raja Ampat explores one of Indonesia’s most remote and ecologically rich marine regions. Travelling aboard a traditional-style boat, the experience moves at a relaxed pace between islands, coral reefs, and secluded bays, with time spent both on the water and ashore. The route takes in a mix of uninhabited islands and small local communities, offering a sense of the region’s geographic isolation and cultural continuity.
Days are shaped by the surrounding environment, with opportunities for snorkelling in clear, reef-filled waters, short island walks, and visits to viewpoints overlooking the archipelago’s distinctive limestone formations. Marine life is a defining feature, with vibrant coral systems supporting a wide range of fish and other species. Time on board allows for a slower rhythm of travel, with open deck spaces providing a constant connection to the sea and landscape.
The journey also includes moments of cultural interaction, with visits to villages where traditional ways of life remain closely tied to the ocean. Guided by a local crew and leader, the trip balances exploration with flexibility, offering an accessible way to experience one of Indonesia’s most distinctive and less-visited regions.
