Adventure Coordinators Insider Tip:

This is no walk in the park but a complete wilderness immersion - however, the rewards are great.  You need to be able to carry a 20kg backpack for up to 18km / 8 hours per day. Expect marshlands, rock-hopping, unstable footing and knee-deep glacier river crossings.  Snow is possible and steady winds are a certainty sometimes with blowing sand. Prior backpacking experience is recommended.  You need a good level of fitness, balance and strength, a positive attitude, and quality (broken-in) hiking boots.
