Hike the beautiful mountainscapes of the Polish Carpathians, the Tatra Mountains, located on the border of Poland and Slovakia on this one-week adventure walking holiday. Starting in medieval Krakow, we take a short drive to Babia Gora National Park where our first walks will lead us across alpine meadows and through ancient forests, in this place that has been described as a meeting place of witches. Next we enjoy some spectacular mountain views as we walk from Slovakia back into Poland and base ourselves in Zakopane, a popular hike and ski resort in the foothills. We hike through the beautiful valley of the Five Polish Lakes before we have the option to attempt the challenging ascend of Kozi Wierch (2,291m) where we are rewarded with more incredible views. A highlight for many is the walk along the Pieniny Way through the stunning Dunajec Gorge, winding its way along the border between Slovakia and Poland. Finally we take a traditional wooden boat across the Dunajec River to enjoy a day of hiking and more wonderful views as we summit Trzy Korony (982m) in the Three Crowns range.
