Experience the natural and cultural wonders of Costa Rica on a family-friendly journey that blends wildlife, landscapes and local connections. Beginning in the capital, San José, you’ll get your first taste of the country’s laid-back spirit before travelling to the rural village of Juanilama. Here, a homestay offers a window into agricultural life, with hands-on cooking and harvesting shared alongside your hosts. From there, the adventure moves to Arenal, where you’ll explore volcano-fringed trails and enjoy a tranquil boat ride along Lake Arenal. The lush Monteverde Cloud Forest follows, offering a chance to stroll suspended bridges high in the canopy, surrounded by colourful birds and dense forest. Continuing south, you’ll stop en route to Manuel Antonio for a traditional cooking class, then spend time walking the trails and beaches of the national park, home to monkeys, sloths and a variety of birdlife. Optional water-based activities or simple beach time offer something for everyone. The journey ends with a return to San José for a relaxed final night. This itinerary combines outdoor activity, time for rest, and authentic cultural exchanges – all while exploring the rich ecosystems that make Costa Rica so memorable.
