Italy offers a wonderful mix of culture, history, food and fun for families, and this journey from Venice to the Amalfi Coast does a fine job of blending it all. Starting in the labyrinthine streets of Venice, families get a feel for this floating city with its canals, mask-making workshops, and gondola rides. From there, the journey continues to the Ligurian coast, where the pastel-hued villages of the Cinque Terre invite relaxed coastal hikes and a hands-on pesto-making class. The trip includes a visit to Pisa’s famous tower en route to Florence, where there’s time to wander historic streets, admire Renaissance art, and hunt for the city’s best gelato.

In Rome, families explore ancient ruins on a guided walk and enjoy a lively gelato tasting before heading south to Pompeii. There, a local guide brings the past to life among the volcanic ruins. A hike up Mt Vesuvius leads into a slower pace along the Amalfi Coast in Minori, with time for beaches, walks or simply relaxing. In Sorrento, there's a scenic day trip to Capri and a final celebration of food with a pizza-making class at a family-run agriturismo. Throughout the journey, there’s a balance of discovery, downtime and flavour, designed with all ages in mind.
